Terapia Bowen este o tehnică neuro-musculo-scheletală în cadrul căreia tratamentul este aplicat prin intermediul țesutului moale al corpului. Tratamentul constă în aplicarea sistematică a unor serii de mișcări de rolare, întrerupte de pauze scurte, dar necesare, cu scopul de a corecta disfuncțiile mecanice și neurologice de pe corp. Fiecare tratament în parte se bazeaza pe o evaluare holistică a sistemelor corpului, precum și a complexelor relații de inter- dependență dintre acestea și are scopul de a stimula și facilita capacitatea naturală, înnăscută a corpului de a se auto-regla și vindeca.
